Mobile Optimization

Mobile Optimization is the process of adjusting your website content to ensure that visitors who access the site from mobile devices won’t have difficulty navigating around the pages. Owners and developers of websites should ensure that their websites are mobile-friendly and quick responsive too! For example, you can easily access the Amazon site whether you are on your PC or any other mobile device. Amazon has made sure that its site is mobile-optimized and fully functional to ensure an engaging and user-friendly experience for its customers.

Difference between mobile-friendly and mobile-optimized

When we say mobile-friendly, we’re only talking about websites that display properly on your mobile device but when we say mobile-optimized, it means that we can access the website, buttons, tabs, and pages just as we would on a desktop screen.

Mobile Optimization tips

  • Responsive: Mobile optimization starts with a responsive design. A responsive design ensures that the site can adjust to the size of different devices on which they are being viewed.
  • Compress your images: Large images tend to be heavy and slow down your website. You can compress the images or try uploading smaller images that don’t weigh down your website.
  • Identify the non-friendly features: There might be some features on your site that don’t convert well for mobile. For example, a sidebar on your website when viewed on the desktop looks good but it can make the text unreadable when viewed on a mobile device.
  • Test pop-ups: Test your pop-ups on mobile devices. If it gets difficult and frustrating for the user to make it go away, then you can consider disabling them.
  • Speed up your checkout process: This is the most important step as this is where your customers convert. Make sure that the checkout elements are free of any issues and offer a smooth experience to the customers on their mobile screens.
